MHISC played an active role in this week’s SC Building Code Council’s meeting. The meeting was key for the association as Council members approved changes to the state’s modular regulations. Notable changes include delaying the next modular building code adoption until 2026. That will mean that manufacturers will be able to see how proposed changes impacted the industry modular construction other states. That knowledge will help the industry to identify proposed code changes that are expensive or unnecessary. The result–keeping home prices reasonable.
Additionally, the association is printing ballots for the upcoming Best in the Industry awards. Winners will be honored at MHISC’s December 6 Winter Meeting. Nominations are now open and close on August 23. Each member location will receive one ballot late September to vote for their favorite nominees.
