The state rental assistance program, SCStayPlus, is now open.

Renters who have been impacted by COVID may receive up to 12 months of assistance for late rent and utility payments dating back to March 13, 2020. Landlords will be able to apply for and receive payments directly.
Federal legislation has designated $271Million in assistance funds for South Carolina.
MHISC recommends that you move as quickly as possible; the last time funds were released applicants claimed the entire amount in less than a week.
Seven counties are receiving their federal assistance funds directly from the US Treasury and will distribute it themselves: Anderson, Berkeley, Charleston, Greenville, Horry, Richland and Spartanburg County. The article in the link above has contact information for the programs in those counties.
