Open Letter to my buddy and business associate for 38 years… Jim Martin

Retiring From Kent Gault Homes

Written By Mitch Gault

Jim,

I know in just a few short weeks, our time working together will come to an end, 38 wonderful, awesome years together. So please allow me to say a few things that have been on my heart.

Thank you and thank you again! I cannot thank you enough for hanging in there with me, staying the course with me and being the ultimate team player with me for 38 wonderful years!

Thank you my friend!

Back when I was trying to figure out what this world had in store for me at the age of 23 when this business was dropped in my lap in just a matter of seconds, little did I know that 5 years later, a guy name Jim Martin would come along and help me steady the ship……for 38 wonderful years!

Thank you my brother!

Between the ups and downs of this industry, the ever changing pace of this industry, the decisions we had to make navigating through all these changes, the opening of sales centers, the closing of sales centers, the customers we had the privilege of serving, the countless number of people we have worked with, the development of subdivisions as this industry redefined itself, the development of parks/communities………you have always been ‘all in’ even though it has not always been easy. You never wavered; you understood the mission. Your sound advice has always been a treasure for me. I am beyond thankful that we were on the same team!

I appreciate you Jim Martin!

Now here we are all grown up now, hopefully a little wiser, for sure we are a little slower. I think about all the good times we have shared together, and I think about all the trying times personally that we have been through together, the ups and downs of life. We have had our share for sure. But you know what, these scars are part of our story. Your steady hand and your unwavering support were always there for me and for Kent-Gault.

No one ever promised us an easy life. The Bible is very clear about this: there will be storms in our lives. But our God is always there for us, in the good times as well as in the bad times. He is our stronghold! I love being on His Team.

So Jimbo………your someday is here. You have reached the finish line.

As sad as it is to see you move on, I know that I have been blessed and I will cherish these blessings the rest of my life. I could not have written a better script.

You have had a long and successful career my friend; you have touched a lot of lives. Thank you for making a difference!

And thank you for 38 years of honesty and integrity and dignity and respect and for being the ultimate team player.

Thank you for every single second you’ve spent at Kent-Gault. I will never forget all you taught me along the way.

You are a great role model and a champion of a man.

And to your awesome wife Glenda, what a special lady she is. Thank you Glenda for all your support and understanding for the past 38 years. You will never know how much that meant to me.

Godspeed my friend ! We hope your retirement is filled with nothing but joy and happiness.

Sincerely and with all love,

Mitch Gault
