SCMHI is dedicated to creating a business climate which maximizes the ability of South Carolina citizens to enjoy the quality and value of modular homes.
Our staff has years of experience in marketing, media relations, membership services, lobbying at the Statehouse, local government planning (including zoning and land-use) and business management. We are dedicated to providing top-notch service to our members as well as educating the public and state and local decision-makers about the benefits of today’s modular homes.
The companies that build and sell modular homes for South Carolinians take great pride in their product.
The SC Modular Housing Institute was formed to promote the highest standards for the modular industry in the Palmetto State. The organization promotes strong laws and regulations to maximize consumer satisfaction and protection. SCMHI publishes a newsletter and sends out member alerts to help the companies stay up-to-date on important building code, licensing and other changes in the laws governing homebuilding and sales.
SCMHI is led by a Director with 27 years of association management experience as well as 12 years of service as a Division Director for the SC Attorney General. Our staff also includes: a Deputy Executive Director overseeing administration, member services and events; a full-time lobbyist and a skilled Communications Coordinator who promotes, and protects the image of, the industry.
