The Most Important Thing to Consider When Buying a Home…

The most important thing to consider when buying a home is who you buy it from. Homebuyers have a lot to consider when purchasing a manufactured home – home size, energy efficiency, financing options – but the single most important decision a homebuyer has to make is who they purchase their home from. When you buy from a MHISC member, you’re buying from someone who is state licensed. Customers of licensees have state guarantees that keep them protected in the event of an unforeseen issue. Your choice of home center or community will stick with you for as long as your home does, so be sure to choose one that will treat you right.

Extra Accountability at No Extra Cost

When you work with a member of MHISC, you know you’re getting the best in the industry. Members offer the same low rates as non-member organizations.

Association members are properly licensed by the Manufactured Housing Board and the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing & Regulation.

This means that you are protected by a network of consumer laws enforced by the South Carolina state government.

Most companies will go out of their way to help remedy any issue you may have, but if you can’t resolve an issue, it’s great knowing you have a place to turn. If you are working with a licensed company, the state Manufactured Housing Board will look into any issues free of charge.

The Manufactured Housing Board has full authority to require the company to take any action necessary to correct a problem, saving you time and hassle.

On the other hand, if you have an issue with an unlicensed seller, your only option for recourse is a lawsuit.
