MHISC Spring Meeting 2018

A record crowd attended MHISC’s State Spring Meeting on April 26 and 27.

Senator Lindsey Graham was the keynote speaker. He talked about growing up in Central, SC.   His family’s first home was manufactured;  they were proud to be home owners.

Lesli Gooch, the industry’s chief lobbyist in Washington said that MHISC’s members are among the most active in communication with the state’s legislators in the Washington delegation.  As a result, South Carolina’s legislative delegation is one of the most pro-MH in the nation. Congress recognizes that manufactured homes are the major source of unsubsidized affordable housing.

Retailers Jim Martin of Kent-Gault Homes and Ronnie Boyce of Oakwood Florence were inducted into the SC Manufactured Housing Hall of Fame, the industry’s highest honor. They were selected based on their high ethical standards, contributions to the industry and a favorable political climate.

A lively crowd enjoyed Casino Night.
