2009 Convention Highlights

Manufactured home retailers, manufacturers, suppliers, community owners and professional service providers from across South Carolina and the region convened on Hilton Head Island for the industry’s key event of the year, the MHISC Convention.

Over 250 people converged on the Westin Resort for the Manufactured Housing Institute of South Carolina’s four-day event.  Information highlights included panels on new lending programs for MH, tax discounts for buyers of energy efficient homes.  The SC Residential Modular Summit, held in conjunction with the meeting focused on building code and set requirement changes for modular homes.

The group elected Trey Ledbetter of Ledbetter Housing in Aiken as the association’s new Chair.  See 2009-2010 on the right for a complete list of new officers. Entertainment events included a golf tournament, family bingo, kayaking excursion and three receptions based on Hollywood themes.  The sponsors below were recognized at a Saturday night banquet featuring cuisine based on four popular movies, “The Godfather,”  “Around the World in 80 Days,”  “The Three Amigos,” and “Forrest Gump,” which, of course featured an array of southern-style shrimp dishes.
