MHISC's Fall Meeting on November 2-3 had a huge turnout and members had a lot of fun!

The event kicked off with committee meetings. Six of MHISC's committees met to tackle industry issues.

Members got ideas from their peers to take back to the businesses at a seminar "How to Hire the Right Person the First Time".

A HUGE announcement was made at dinner that MHISC will be heading back to Hilton Head in July of 2017 for the 50th Anniversary Convention. July 26-29, 2017. More details on this meeting are coming soon.

After a delicious dinner catered by Ruth's Chris members traveled through Columbia's Vista on a Pub Crawl.

The next day member enjoyed 18 holes of golf at Indian River Golf Club. The PAC golf tournament supports the MHISC PAC which supports candidates who support our industry. The winning team was Art Newton, Ned Claasen and Bobby Hounsell. Asa Still had Longest Drive and Joe Massey won Closest to the Pin.

A few other important details that were put in the books at the state meeting were:

New Services for the Industry: The MHISC Board of Directors voted to add a Public Affairs Coordinator position to the MHISC Staff. The new position will focus on building the associations political clout, improving media coverage and the association's technology and social media outreach.

Statehouse Agenda: The leaders set the industry government affairs agenda for 2017. Goals include creating SC Building Code for modular homes that is more reasonable and less expensive than the current International Residential Code. The Board also approved the staff to pursue reasonable, limited continuing education standards.
